Blogging sucks…there I said it…whew..I feel much better….Now I can get on to my blog. It’s been a busy last few weeks, lots of things that needed to be done weeks before, and the loose ends are starting to be tied up, so I have more time to do more work….nasty circle of the working world…We have been tying up loose ends on our house to get it ready to sell. For now it’s on Kijiji.
Now for something a bit different, take a look at this…. The Haunted Pod Village Of San-zhi
I can across this site though somewhere, ( it’s hard to know where after severals links in) It’s on this site My Several Worlds… Very interesting….I’d love to visit this site someday…(San-zhi)
Ok, that’s it for now, until next time….

A few days ago I created an official website www.mcfcontracting.com Basically it’s has contact info, pictures, list of what I do and some blah blah blah. With this site came a blog. I’ve tried to figure it out but it’s not as easy as this…so I’ll be keeping this for awhile until I figure out how it works.

I’ve been trying to write this post for about a day and can not put down into words what I am feeling, I don’t know why I’m am so overwhelmed about this….I guess the only thing is that I’m so pleased that it’s close to where I live and it’s beautiful! Read about it here: American Architecture Awards
Architectual Record
Slowhome
I should add that I came across this house while reading Saturdays newspaper. It was featured in the “Salon” section of the paper and it was written by John Leroux, an architect who lives in Frederiction.

A few days ago I received an email stating that my blog was #21 in a list of the top 50 startup blogs…To tell the truth I’m a little unsure about why my blog was picked and even more unsure why my blog was before Donald Trump’s blog….but any how I still think it’s neat that my blog is on a list and will do my best to make it to number one!
So you can check out the list here www.evancarmichael.com
Oh yeah, in regards to my blog being ahead of the Trumps blog, as Evan Carmichael said, “Shhhh…Don’t tell him”

Yesterday I was roofing one of the houses I framed and the lot across the street a prefab house was being placed. I’ve never seen this done before and really was amazed at the size of the crane and the amount of people that where there. It was a very busy street. The last picture I really had to put in because it shows how not smart (didn’t really want to say dumb, because I’ve meet this guy and he seems smart) people can be. I guess he had to do what he had to do to get the drain pipe th

ere. He just needs a bigger truck.

I while back I said I was going to show the houses that I was hired to frame and It’s been almost 6 months and I thought maybe I would start showing some pics. Here is the first one…It’s a 1200 sq/ft bungalow with a walk out basement that was partially finished. Quite a bit of room in this house that looks small from the road.

I came across this site a few weeks ago and am very intrigued by this guy. His name is Sean Aiken and for the last 46 weeks he has been doing a different job every week! And best of all he donates his earnings to charity. On his list of jobs he wants to do, one if the jobs is construction worker…hmmmmm? I’m very tempted to see if he would be willing to come to New Brunswick and help me build some houses. Anyways, I’m still thinking about it…and while I am thinking about it, check out his site and hire him! and let me know if you do! Oh yeah and spread word….blog or go out in the middle of the street and yell…www.oneweekjob.com
Oh yeah I’d loved to do this someday…

There’s a movement happening here in Canada and it’s spreading…It’s the idea against building “MacMansions” You know the developments that every house on the block basically looks like the one next to it…well if you don’t like this you can help by signing the declaration…. http://www.theslowhome.com/blog/outrage/

Today I turn 40…One of life’s big milestones, I feel great! Glad to be forty, glad to get out of those awful thirty’s…I worked for a few hours today, but the weather was bad so I went home and spent the day with my wife and kids. I relaxed, took a nap (which is what you do when you turn 40) my wife and I watched “Sa Som I Himmelen” One of the best movie I’ve seen in years… It was a good day to turn 40.
This past Friday we had a party for me here at our house. Lots of food and drink and friends. It was fun! Chantal, y wife, spent the week trying to put together a “wall of fame” (or shame) It has pictures of me as a kid, a few birthday pictures, some school pictures, even some pictures of some old cars of mine. It was moving to look back on my last forty years and see were I can from and how I’ve grown as from a boy to a forty year old man. Time does fly by…(sorry about the quality of the photos, I forgot who was taking them but they were a little unsure about how to make the right settings on our camera)
